Arrest Made in February Shooting

Jerome Bryan, of Bloomfield, turned himself in on a warrant charging him with multiple offenses related to his involvement in a February 21, 2009 shooting in the area of Beach Road.

The arrest stemmed from a 02/21/09 call around 8:00 PM in which numerous 911 calls were received reporting multiple gun shots being fired in the area of Beach Road.  A 911 call was also received from a resident of Daniel Blvd complaining that their son had just called on his cell phone saying he was being chased, and then the caller heard multiple shots fired and lost connection with her son.

Responding Officers located multiple spent rounds, but no injured persons.  An investigation ensued, resulting in the arrest of Jerome Bryan, and the anticipated arrest of four or five more involved persons.

The investigation found that the 02/21 shooting was likely retaliation for two previous shootings that occurred months earlier.  No one was injured during the three incidents.
