The earthquake that has brought great devastation to Haiti will require significant humanitarian support.

(2010-01-15)

The earthquake that has brought great devastation to Haiti will require significant humanitarian support.  The Town of Bloomfield, through the Police Department and Department of Public Works, has personnel assigned to the Capital Region Incident Management Team, who have been trained to support large scale disaster operations.  Upon activation by the Federal or State Department of Homeland Security, the Capital Region Incident Management Team, which is one of a few such teams nationwide, can be deployed to support disaster operations within the United States and without.  Our team members continue their day-to-day services on behalf of the town, but are readied to represent the Town of Bloomfield should they be called upon.

All of us can further assist the aid to Haiti through financial support.  Because there will always be a few people who will see a tragedy as an opportunity to defraud others, the Town encourages anyone looking to donate, to do so through the American Red Cross or other long-standing, reputable aid organization.
