Leisure Services Department - Program Cancellation Policy

It shall be the policy of the Bloomfield Leisure Service Department to curtail or cancel recreation programs and activities on the following days:

1. All recreation programs and activities will be cancelled when the Bloomfield Public Schools are closed due to snow or weather conditions. Program cancellations on weekends or school vacations due to weather conditions will be determined by the Recreation Director or her designees.

2. All recreation programs and activities will be cancelled on the following days:

• Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
• Thanksgiving Day and the following day
• Easter Sunday
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Martin Luther King Day (day and afternoon only)

3. All recreation programs and cosponsored programs using school facilities will be cancelled on the following days unless special arrangements are made with the Director of Leisure Services.

• All School Holidays
• All week day school vacation periods during the school year
