Q:
        What is the last day to pay my taxes before I am assessed a penalty?
A:        The last day to pay July 1 taxes before a penalty is assessed is the first             working   day of August. Your payment must be postmarked or hand             delivered no later than  August 1. For the Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax,
            it is the first working day of February. Your payment must be postmarked
            or hand-delivered no later than February 1.

Q:        How is the interest calculated for late payments?
A:        Interest on delinquent bills is calculated at 1.5% per month (18% per year)             from  the original due date of the tax bill, with a minimum interest of $2.00.

Q:        How are my taxes calculated?

Your taxes are calculated by multiplying your Property Assessment
            by the current  Mill Rate.

Q:        What is the current Mill Rate?
A:        
The current Mill Rate is 34.33. Multiply your Property Assessment
            by .03433 to find your Town of Bloomfield tax.  

Q:        Do the Fire Districts still collect taxes separately?
A:        No. The Town of Bloomfield now collects taxes for the Blue Hills Fire             District  and the Bloomfield Center Fire District. 

Q:        What are the current fire tax Mill Rates?
A: 
       The current Mill Rate for the Blue Hills Fire District is 2.2 and the current             Mill Rate for the Bloomfield Center Fire District is .95. If you live in or own             property in the Blue Hills Fire District, multiply your Property Assessment             by .0022 to arrive at your Fire District tax. If you live in or own property in             the Bloomfield  Center Fire District, multiply your Property Assessment by             .00095 to arrive at your Bloomfield Center Fire District tax.
