Town of Bloomfield Planning Department

The department’s mission is to enhance the orderly development of the town and to maintain the quality of the residential neighborhoods and business districts by enforcing regulations that protect the town from over-development. This is accomplished with a service-oriented staff that provides active and consistent enforcement in a fair and equitable manner in order to maintain property values.

The Planning and Zoning Department staff implements the Plan of Development through zoning regulations adopted by the Bloomfield Town Plan and Zoning Commission. They also process applications and permits for the Town Plan and Zoning Commission, Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals. In addition, this office is responsible for enforcing the Zoning regulations and other ordinances adopted by the Town Council.
