Town of Bloomfield Engineering Department

The Engineering Department is responsible for preparing or supervising the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction or reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, storm sewers, drains, and other municipal infrastructure, and for supervising their construction.  The department provides planning, surveying, design, and construction administration and inspection services for town capital projects.

The Engineering Department also:

• Reviews plans and other technical information submitted by developers for compliance with town design and construction standards and good engineering practice.
• Provides technical comments to the Town Plan and Zoning Commission.
• Coordinates compliance with the town’s Stormwater Management Permit.
• Issues permits for work within the town street rights-of-way, including street excavation, driveway, and storm sewer connection permits.
