Robert Berman

Robert Berman was elected to the Town Council in November, 2007. He previously served on the Bloomfield Board of Education from 1995 through 2003, and has been active in educational issues in Bloomfield since 1975.

Mr. Berman’s involvement with town government started in the mid 1970’s with an appointment to the Transportation Advisory Committee where he helped organize the contest that named the town mini-busses “Woody” and Wimpy”.

He and his wife, Phyllis, have been married for 38 years and have two children who graduated from Bloomfield Schools. In addition, they have four grandchildren.

Mr. Berman has held the position of Financial Secretary and Assistant Treasurer at the Beth Hillel Synagogue.
