Town of Bloomfield Approved Budget

The budget process begins in December, when the Departments begin to prepare their budget requests. In January, the Department Heads, the Director of Finance, and the Town Manager begin analyzing requests and shaping their recommended budget. The Town Council receives the recommended budget in March, followed by six weeks of budget hearings to which the public is invited. The recommended budget is voted on by the Town Council in April, and the final approved budget is presented in May at the annual Town meeting.
