The Marilyn Michaelson Senior Center of Bloomfield is the site of many outstanding recreational, social, cultural, and educational programs and activities. The Senior Services Department is committed to servicing the needs of a diverse population, 55 years and older, from the active newly retired to the frail and the homebound.

Senior Services Staff:
The main office of Bloomfield Senior Services is located in the Marilyn Michaelson Senior Center at 330 Park Avenue, behind the Alvin & Beatrice Wood Human Services Center. The parking lot for the Senior Center is accessed on the left (west) side of the building as entering the site from Park Avenue. Click Here for the office location and a link to directions.

Programs & Services for Seniors:
The well-being of our older citizens concerns us all as a community. Do you have a friend, neighbor, or relative who is in need of help or who can benefit from our programs? Below is a listing of some of the programs and services offered by Bloomfield Senior Services:

We will be happy to answer your questions, add you to our newsletter mailing list, give you a tour of our facilities, or sign you up for one, or more, of our programs and services. - Durable Safety Equipment
Free Loan of walkers, canes, commodes, shower stools, and other equipment to any resident of Bloomfield. These devices are loaned in an "as-is" condition and there is no implied warranty or guarantee.
- Educational Programs

- Fitness Programs

- Health Promotion
The Bloomfield-West Hartford Health District offers a half-day wellness clinic every Tuesday at the Senior Center. Call 860-243-8361 for an appointment.
- Information and Referral
The Senior Center staff can help seniors, friends, and families access services through information and referral to available resources.
- Congregate Meals Program
A delicious, nutritious luncheon is served Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Senior Center for a $2.00 donation. Call 860-243-8361 at least 24 hours in advance for reservations. Similar meals programs are also available at:

- Meals-on-Wheels
Caring volunteers deliver hot meals to home-bound seniors and disabled residents, maintaining a vital link to the community. These lunches and dinners provide important nutrition to people who can't shop for or prepare food for themselves. Varied menus, including a kosher food option, are delivered Monday through Saturday, including holidays. - Transportation
Bloomfield's green and gold mini-buses transport seniors and disabled residents to medical appointments, banking, grocery shopping, Senior Center programs and events, etc. Basic service is available Monday through Friday, (not including Town holidays) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. See the Monthly Newsletter for any additional service availability that may be offered.
Please see the Mini-Bus Brochure for additional information before making your first reservation. If you have questions, call the Senior Center at 860-243-8361, (note, this is not the number for reservations). To make a reservation for mini-bus service, call 860-243-8364 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. To assure a ride, make your reservations up to 1 week, but at least 24 hours, in advance.
- North Central Area Agency on Aging
Bloomfield is one of the communities served by the North Central Area Agency on Aging. The NCAAA is an excellent advocate and resource for seniors in the region. For more information, Click Here to see their website.
- Other Activities and Services
Some other activities and services provided through the Senior Services Department include: 55 Alive Mature Drivers, referral for tax preparation assistance, Notary Public, and the Monthly Newsletter.
