
E. Leon Rivers
E. Leon Rivers has been a Bloomfield resident for 28 years. A retired vocational education instructor for the Department of Corrections, where he worked for 22 years, Mr. Rivers currently is the Student Manager Coordinator at the Metropolitan Learning Center. He was also a supervisor with the Bloomfield Parks and Recreation Department. Mr. Rivers has a BS from Eastern Connecticut State University.
Married for 42 years to Jeannette Rivers, Mr. Rivers has one son, one daughter, and two grandchildren
A former resident of Bolton, Mr. Rivers was a Town of Bolton Selectman. He also served as a Lieutenant on the Bolton Volunteer Fire Department and as Constable.
In Bloomfield, Mr. Rivers has served on the Community Awareness Task Force, was a head coach for Midget Football, and has been on the Town Committee for 15 years. He has also served as an alternate member of Zoning Board of Appeals. Currently, Mr. Rivers is Chairman of Steward Board at Spottswood AME Zion Church.
An advocate of open government for all citizens, Mr. Rivers states, "I believe in public service. I would like to help improve the quality of life for our citizens through tax relief and improved services."
