Beautification Committee

You can help!

The Beautification Committee is a volunteer committee that supports The Town of Bloomfield with its mission to promote and facilitate activities that improve the appearance of Bloomfield. The  Committee recommends or plans beautification activities with support from the Department of Public Works.  Our resources are limited and currently we actively support the annual planting of flowers/plants at the following locations:

  • The Mary Hill Memorial Park at the corner of Blue Hills Avenue and Park Avenue.
  • The Town Green across from Prosser Library (at the corner of Park Avenue and Tunxis Avenue).
  • Plantings are also placed around the Town Hall building and the Wintonbury Branch Library.
  • The bed around the Bloomfield police station sign.
  • A crescent-shaped garden at the intersection of Marguerite Avenue and Blue Hills Avenue.
  • Seventeen planters are filled with flowers at various municipal buildings around town.
  • Hardy mums are placed at various locations location throughout town in the Fall.

The majority of the annual planting around the town occurs in early June each year.

The Beautification Committee meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in Conference Room #4 at Town Hall on Bloomfield Avenue.  The Beautification Committee is supported by the Public Works Department.  If you have questions or would like additional information regarding volunteering to help the Beautification Committee, contact Scott Short at sshort@bloomfieldct.org.
