Joseph P. Merritt
Joseph P. Merritt has served on the Bloomfield Town Council since 1991. He grew up in Bloomfield and continues a long-standing tradition of family service to the community. Joe received his BA from Dartmouth and his MS from MIT, Sloan School of Finance, where he had the distinction of being a Sloan Fellow. He served as an officer in the United States Navy, and after leaving the military, he was the founder of Merritt Machine. Joe currently owns and operates JM Metals, LLC. Joe and his wife Beverlee have three children and five grandchildren.
Joe states that he is dedicated to the belief that the Town of Bloomfield can provide good services to the residents without abusing the taxpayer.
